about
My training is mostly in biochemistry, though I’m looking to expand my toolkit to attack problem based projects about how organisms work. To that end, I like to think about how nature has evolved molecular pathways and machines, and how we can engineer them to our advantage. I’m always excited to talk about unusual biology; some of my favorite stories of late are about bacterial sociology and altruistic trees.
I’m committed to making my science (and hopefully everyone’s, soon enough) open access, and I’m passionate about effective science communication. Now more than ever is it important to accurately depict biology research in digestable language. I care a lot about ensuring that academia is for everyone, and I’m working my hardest to leave MIT a better place for graduate students than when I found it.
